COOPERATIVE RESEARCH FARMS REPORTS TONNAGE RECORDS

The Board of Directors for Cooperative Research Farms recently reviewed the final results of their 2016-2017 fiscal year, and were pleased to report that their collective “CRF research applied” final feed equivalent tonnage (as fed on the farm) had increased 2.4% to record 25,671,087 tons (US tons). The increase in the research applied tonnages was led by a 7.4% increase in the final feed equivalent tonnages for swine to a new high of 11,250,953 tons (US tons); and by equine which showed a 7% increase and a historical high of 513,625 final feed equivalent tons (US tons).

CRF is a multi-national organization of feed manufacturers in North America and Europe.  For sixty-three years, CRF members have worked together conducting thousands of nutrition and management related research trials for the benefit of their customers. CRF’s members are: Federated Co-operatives Limited, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Neovia, St. Nolff, France; Kalmbach Feeds, Inc., Upper Sandusky, Ohio; La Coop Fédérée, Montreal, Quebec; and Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, LaVergne, Tennessee. The combined scope of the CRF members produce more than 30,300,000 US tons of final feed equivalents, 92 member owned feed mills manufacturing feeds of the highest quality, 7,860 employees working to provide superior animal nutrition products and 220 highly skilled individuals employed in Research, Development and Technical Support.
