FEDERATED CO-OPERATIVES, LTD. 55th ANNIVERSARY IN COOPERATIVE RESEARCH FARMS

Richmond, Virginia – Federated Co-operatives, Ltd. (FCL), headquartered in Saskatoon, Sask., was recently recognized for their fifty-fifth year of membership in Cooperative Research Farms (CRF) during the last meeting of the CRF Board of Directors. FCL manufactures cattle, horse, sheep, and poultry feed from three dedicated feed plants. It also sources animal supplies and livestock equipment for Co-ops and their customers across Western Canada.

“Federated Co-operatives has been a dedicated research partner since 1964 and has incorporated innovations from CRF’s research in their numerous nutritional programs,” noted David Ott, CRF General Manager. “FCL has also served in key leadership roles throughout the history of the CRF organization. Mrs. Shelley Revering, Feed Director with FCL, served on the CRF Board of Directors since 2013 and was recently elected President.

“Co-op Feeds has partnered with CRF for over five decades of collaborative innovation to develop and manufacture high-quality, effective animal nutrition products. Sharing ideas and expertise has been instrumental to continue to evolve our product lines and support growth in Agriculture into the future for the Co-operative Retailing System,” said Revering.

As a member of CRF, FCL participates in determining the research direction, designing specific trials to achieve the members’ objectives, networking with industry experts in nutrition and feed production, and has access to 3,223 CRF’s proprietary research trials.

“Through CRF, we have access to world-class nutritionists and cutting-edge research. This has been the basis of many of our feeds for over 60 years,” said Amanda Van De Kerckhove, Ruminant Nutritionist at FCL. “We’re excited about upcoming innovations to further improve the health and well-being of livestock and poultry for our customers.”

CRF is a multi-national organization of feed manufacturers in North America and Europe.  For sixty-five years, CRF members have worked together conducting thousands of nutrition and management related research trials for the benefit of their customers.

In addition to FCL, the other members include Neovia, St. Nolff, France; Kalmbach Feeds, Inc., Upper Sandusky, Ohio; Sollio Agriculture, Montreal, Quebec; and Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, LaVergne, Tennessee. The combined scope of the CRF members represents more than 27,500,000 metric tons of final feed equivalents, 92 member owned feed mills manufacturing feeds of the highest quality, 7,860 employees working to provide superior animal nutrition products and 220 highly skilled individuals employed in Research, Development and Technical Support.
