La Coop fédérée 50th Anniversary in Cooperative Research Farms
Richmond, Virginia – La Coop fédérée, the Eastern Canada’s largest agri-food group, was recognized for its fiftieth year of membership in Cooperative Research Farms (CRF) during a recent meeting of the CRF Board of Directors. CRF is one of the largest privately owned research networks, and has been dedicated since 1954 to providing the latest nutritional technology that can be transferred to beef, dairy, poultry & swine producers and horse owners.
“La Coop fédérée has been an active leader in Cooperative Research Farms since 1966 and has incorporated CRF’s innovative research findings throughout their nutritional programs.” noted David Ott, CRF General Manager. “La Coop fédérée has several researchers and nutritionists serving in key leadership roles in the CRF organization; Mr. Michel Brosseau, Special Advisor to Senior Management with La Coop fédérée, currently serves as President of the CRF Board of Directors.”
“Our long-term partnership with CRF and the collaborative nature of the organization, where cooperation and sharing of information is much valued, were instrumental in our research and development projects of the last five decades”, added Gaétan Desroches, CEO of La Coop fédérée.
“Not only we can work on research projects and exchange ideas with some of the best companies in livestock production, but we can also get insights from different markets and benefit from the experience and best practices acquired over the years by our partners”, continued Sébastien Léveillé, Executive Vice-President of the Agri-business Division.
As a member of CRF, La Coop fédérée participates in determining the research direction and long range plans; designing specific trials to achieve the members’ objectives, networking with industry experts in nutrition and feed production, contributing to CRF’s patented technology and trademarks, and has access to 3,161 CRF’s proprietary research trials.
CRF is a multi-national organization of feed manufacturers in North America and Europe. For sixty-two years, CRF members have worked together conducting thousands of nutrition & management related research trials for the benefit of their customers. CRF’s members are: Federated Co-operatives Limited, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Invivo Animal Nutrition and Health, St. Nolff, France; Kalmbach Feeds, Inc., Upper Sandusky, Ohio; La Coop fédérée, Montreal, Quebec; Southern States Cooperative Inc., Richmond, Virginia; and Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, LaVergne, Tennessee. The combined scope of the CRF members represents more than 28,580,000 metric tons of final feed equivalents, 106 owned feed mills manufacturing feeds of the highest quality, 9,200 employees working to provide superior animal nutrition products and 254 highly skilled individuals employed in Research, Development and Technical Support. Despite the extensive geography covered by these members they do have several common objectives, one of which is to be the Leaders in Advanced Nutrition.
